چکیده

In Peer Data Management Systems (PDMS), each peer is an autonomous source that makes available a local schema. Information exchange occurs through the establishment of schema mappings between local schemas. To help matters, ontologies have been considered as uniform representation of local schemas (i.e., peer ontologies). Consequently, ontology matching techniques have been used to determine schema mappings between peer ontologies. This work presents SemMatcher, a tool for matching ontology-based schemas. SemMatcher allows the identification of semantic correspondences between two peer ontologies using a domain ontology as background knowledge. Also, the tool determines a global similarity measure between the matching ontologies that can be used for peer clustering.

An Improved Semantic Schema Matching Approach

Schema matching is a critical step in many applications, such as data warehouse loading, Online Analytical Process (OLAP), Data mining, semantic web [2] and schema integration. This task is defined for finding the semantic correspondences between elements of two schemas. Recently, schema matching has found considerable interest in both research and practice. In this paper, we present a new impr...

MatchMaking - A Tool to Match OWL Schemas

This paper describes a software tool that implements an instancebased schema matching technique for OWL dialects. The technique is based on a matching algorithm that depends on the definition of similarity functions that evaluate the semantic proximity of elements from two different schemas. The tool is engineered to accommodate different similarity functions and variations of the matching algo...

This paper summarizes the OAEI Contest 2006 results for the matching tool COMA++. The study shows that a generic schema matching system can also effectively solve complex ontology matching tasks. 1 Presentation of the system COMA++ is an extension of our previous COMA prototype [1]. It is a customizable and generic tool for matching both schemas and ontologies specified in languages such as SQL...
